The Soul Divided
This teaching is a simple thought on the soul that will provoke you to look inward at the soul differently than you have before. First, we must know that the soul is spiritual, but it is the earthly part of you that helps you associate with your earthly life. It is important to learn that when God formed the first man Adam, He made him a living soul. God breathed His life into him and gave him the ability to be a spiritual being who could live on the earth in a terrestrial body. (Terrestrial, meaning earthly.)
It's also important to know that the soul can easily get seduced and led astray from the truth and ways of God. This is where the revelation of sin and death can be fully realized. Through the soul, the parables of the earth are manifested and sin and death can be seen through the images of the flesh. That's why the story of Adam and Eve is used so often among us. It is the story of the soul that sinned against God. It is the first account of the earthly image that God made who sinned against God by following his soul. Jesus manifested in the same image of Adam as a righteous soul and redeemed all souls back to God. I'll finish this thought later in this teaching.

Deuteronomy 13
When the Lord taught the people of Israel in Deuteronomy 13, He used the example of the false prophet, the dreamer of dreams, to show how the soul can seduce you and lead you away to serve other gods. Let's read Deuteronomy 13:1-9.
1 "If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2 and the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, 'Let us go after other gods,' which you have not known, 'and let us serve them,' 3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God is testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him. 5 But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has taught rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of slavery, to make you leave the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.
6 "If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son or your daughter or the wife you embrace or your friend who is as your own soul entices you secretly, saying, 'Let us go and serve other gods,' which neither you nor your fathers have known, 7 some of the gods of the peoples who are around you, whether near you or far off from you, from the one end of the earth to the other, 8 you shall not yield to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him, nor shall you conceal him. 9 But you shall kill him. Your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people.
There is a lot to unpack in just nine verses, but let's keep it simple and to the point. I find it very interesting how God compares a prophet, a dreamer of dreams, in verse 1 to the soul in verse 6. This would mean that your soul can act as a prophet in the earth. This prophet is a deceiver who leads God's people astray by saying that the Lord told him something and He really didn't. A prophet is the voice of God, and if he is deceived, he will be the voice of another god who is speaking to you to lead you away from the one true God. In the Old Testament, the false prophets led people astray by saying words that weren't really from God but instead were from their own foolish hearts. This is an excellent example of how the soul speaks to you continually and can lead you astray to follow other gods as well. That's exactly what the soul can do and is very apt by nature to do.
The soul can take the words of God without understanding them and act as a false prophet to cause you to go after other gods. This happens when you take the word of God and put your own interpretation to it, and then you create your walk with God by actually following other gods. These other gods are spirits and beliefs other than God's true word. The key to catching this is to remember that your soul, because of Adam, is in a fallen, sinful state, and so your perception will be earthly and focused on evil desires even though you may feel like you're doing what is pleasing to God. A good example of this is found in 1 Samuel 15, when King Saul was given specific instructions of the Lord by the true prophet Samuel. Saul decided not to do as he was commanded but made choices that he thought would please the Lord. This decision to listen to his own soul and follow his deception cost King Saul his throne. The Lord made it clear that to obey is better than all your sacrifices produced by your soul. Most all seductions are manifested from the soul, and that's why it is the soul that must be saved.

The five parts of the soul.
After making the comparison and showing us how you can be deceived to follow other gods, the Lord then divided the soul into five parts to reveal where these seductions come from and how they take place.

All along, the false prophet has been hidden within our soul to deceive us and cause us to follow after other gods. It's time to get every part of our soul saved and walking in the obedience of God. This work will take time, but it proves that salvation is a work in progress, and until all parts of the soul are saved, the salvation of God is still taking place in us every day.
If you can see the earth and its manifestation, you can already see that each of these family members is very different in how they live. While you may not physically have a brother, sister, or wife to embrace, this teaching still does apply to you. It applies to everyone because it's a spiritual principle, and each one of us, male or female, must learn and understand each part. Within each of us is a soul, and every soul has all five parts. How? Because in God, all five exist, and it was His breath that breathed into you and made you a living soul.
We see the diversities of the soul with Adam, who was made a living soul with the breath of God in him. Hidden within his soul were the other parts that were not manifested yet. The first division of the soul started in Genesis 2:21–25 with Adam.
21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. 23 Then the man said, "This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man." 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. 25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.
This first division of the soul of Adam was Eve, which is Adam's wife. She was taken from him and given an image to help him see another part of his soul that had not been manifested yet. Seeing this part of the soul revealed what part of his soul was deceived. (Read Genesis 3 to see how this great deception took place). After this division, we know the male and female parts of the soul. God continued His division of Adam's soul when they had two sons called Cain and Abel. The son and the brother are now manifested. (You can read about this in Genesis 4). The wickedness revealed in Adam's soul is starting to increase and manifest. We see the last two parts of the soul, called daughter and friend, begin to take shape in Genesis 5-6. More on that at another time, but what stands out is that once Adam's wife was deceived and his soul believed the words of a serpent, sin was now the nature of the soul, and false teachings would begin to lead all souls away from God.

The soul has both good and evil.
While this teaching is focused on the parts of the soul that will seduce you, I also want to include each part of the soul that's been saved and regenerated as well. Here is a list of both the unregenerate soul and the regenerated soul.
Soul Un-regenerated
-
Brother -born in adversity
-
Son - of perdition
-
Daughter - of whoredoms
-
Wife - an adulterous
-
Friend - of the world
Soul Regenerated
-
Brother - of Christ
-
Son - of God
-
Daughter - of Zion
-
Wife - bride of Christ
-
Friend - of God
Regenerated means that it has been made new by the Spirit of God. Unregenerate means that a false prophet or a wrong spirit is still working in your soul to deceive you. Notice how there is a good and an evil side to the soul. That's the way it is with everything in the Spirit. Now that we can see the division of the soul, you can begin to learn more about each part.
Below is a short description of each part. The evil part is represented first, followed by the righteous. As Paul states in 1 Corinthians 15, first the natural, then the spiritual. The first man Adam is of the earth, earthy, the second man, the last Adam is the Lord from heaven. This is the same pattern of the parts of the soul. You have those of the earth who manifest evil, and then you have those who are of heaven who manifest the will of God in righteousness.
When you examine the many characters of the Bible, you will find that these five soul parts are everywhere. Some are good representations of God, and others only manifest evil. Learning their story and their part in the illustration of the soul will help you discern what parts are working in you. Let's take a look.
Brother
Brother Born in Adversity - A son born after the flesh who seeks to persecute the righteous works of his brother. Having been born for adversity, this brother walks disorderly after his own will to strive against the promise of God and bring it into bondage. Angered by his pride and non-acceptance of God, his hate is revenged upon his brother's righteous deeds. This brings to light that whoever hates his brother is a murderer.
Brother of Christ - A righteous brother and companion in tribulation. Loved of his Father, enduring the persecution of his evil brother. He loves the brotherhood honoring all men, fearing God, and honoring the King. He is the true example of brotherly love in edifying the kingdom. He is above a servant and is a faithful minister, being a mouthpiece for the King. He is a fellow laborer and fellow servant in the gospel of the kingdom.
Son
Son of Perdition - Also known as the son of man whose heart is fully set to do evil. He is the lost son who wills to sit on a throne of whom he is not the heir. He was born of the seed of an adulterous woman, making him the son of a sorcerer. He is the man of sin that draws back unto perdition, who exalts himself above all that is called God. He is the son that believes his father is God while denying the Son of God as the rightful heir to God's kingdom.
Son of God - Son of promise, born of the Spirit, made after the image of God, He is the true heir to the throne of His Father. Taught under tutors, He must learn obedience by the things He suffers. Being the firstborn of many brethren, He is chosen to be the sacrifice for the kingdom He will rule. Persecuted by His brother, He is made an overcomer and receives power to be Lord of all, giving life to all who will believe in Him.
Daughter
Daughter of Whoredoms - As is the daughter, so is the mother. A daughter born of men, conceived in fornication with unfaithful men. She is taught by the mother of harlots to commit whoredoms by seducing the sons of God to worship other gods. She loathes her husband and her children. She hates her sisters, husband, and their children. She despises her mother's counsel. She commands kingdoms by seduction, making sure the heirs of truth do not reign as king.
Daughter of Zion - Virgin daughter of Jerusalem likened unto a comely and delicate woman. She is the beauty of Israel, cherished by the love of her Father. Always doing well, she trusts wholly in the Lord, having great faith in the healing and salvation of Israel. Being set aside for her husband, she serves God in prayers night and day in the temple, rejoicing and singing at the presence of God, counting Him faithful and true at His coming.
Wife
Wife is an Adulterous - Queen of the kingdom, quietly (yet loudly) ruling in her husband's affairs. She is an evil woman who flatters with her words and takes men with her eyelids. An adulteress who departs from her husband by forgetting the covenant of her God and hunts for the precious life. Seducing young men void of understanding, she fills the kingdom with children of whoredoms. She is subtle in heart, and her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
Wife is the Bride of Christ - The bride of Christ, the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, has prepared herself for the marriage of the Lamb. Rejoiced over by the bridegroom, she is the faithful church and body of God who is sanctified and cleansed by the life of her husband. Her body is not her own but is subject to her husband, having the glory of God as her light. Loved by Him, she is the mother of all of His children, faithful to prepare the home and give Him many sons and daughters.
Friend
Friend of the World - An adulterer or adulterous who has a lust for the world, constantly warring and praying amiss, wanting what's not his. An enemy of God with an evil eye who always feels cheated being called but never chosen, desiring to have but never obtaining. His friendship is for self-gain, making himself equal with the true friend of God then betraying him by magnifying himself against him and killing him. He will be bound hand and foot and be cast into outer darkness.
Friend of God - A keeper of the commandments of God, chosen and ordained to bring forth fruit. He works by faith, believing every word of God, knowing that whatever he asks is given to him with nothing being hidden. He is a friend of the bridegroom, rejoicing greatly of the groom's voice in having a bride. Having righteousness imputed, he commands his children and his household after him, loving one another and forever keeping the way of The Lord.
Conclusion
As you can see, there is a lot to the soul to discern. I want to express to you in this teaching that these parts work in you every day. Most of the time, you would never even consider differences in the thoughts that you think and manifest. This teaching should make you aware of that.
Remember that the soul deals with the earth and the many manifestations every day. The question that will begin to get answered for yourself is, what parts are working in me that I haven't discerned? As you progress in the Lord, you will learn everything God has for you, and nothing will be hidden from you. All will be revealed! The secret to that is befriending Jesus Christ. He tells all His secrets to His friends.
For those who want to learn more about this subject, continue to follow close, and everything will be revealed soon.
